Banjo Cotton Linen Scarf in Coral by Susy Pilgrim Waters

The Maker: I am radiant about and proud of having the work of my dear friends Susy and Keith in the shop after many, many years of giggling and loving friendship!  True story- ten years ago when Upstate opened, these kids sent me a small handful of scarves to help give me a boost. I will never forget this gesture of kindness and generosity. This is the first time I have carried them in the shop- and I am so excited to share them with you.

Susy's passion for textiles and surface design results in one-of-a-kind apparel.  Woven cashmere and merino wool scarves and throws are exquisitely handmade and printed with Susy's unique surface designs. More recently, cotton and silk woven in India are beautifully handprinted and then stitched into dresses and scarves as well as large heirloom-quality throws. Keith's 3D experience informs a functional, practical, small batch of handcrafted end tables and trays that are carefully made by hand and printed in his workshop in Gloucester, MA.

Banjo is musical — both lyrical and zesty. Handprinted on a unique 50% cotton and 50% linen blend with an airy, open weave and a Riviera color palette. Perfect summer wear — wrapped for warmth on cool evenings or draped as a whisper-weight around your shoulders.
