Tucked Under by Carol Bowman
My mom is awesome in a million ways, and also a pretty great photographer and mad lover of nature!
In the Spring of 2016, she called to tell me that she found a loon's nest on one of her daily kayak paddles. From that day forward she checked in on the egg, then baby, then adolescent loon as the summer spun by. The final call about the loon came from her kayak to say that she just watched it leave the lake for the last time, off to live a life. She was crying to say good bye to it. So great! All of it.
Mom compiled the photos of this young loon life in a book and wrote an endearing text to accompany it from the perspective of the ever learning baby.
So great! For grown ups and kids alike.
