Vintage Tent Fabric Pet Bed

The Maker: Puebco are conjurers of beautiful goods from recycled materials, mostly those from the Indian and Japanese military.

The story: “I am not sure what this could be used for, but let’s just buy it anyways.” Because of my habit, I bought something like a shallow bucket shape made from military cloth when visiting a flea market in the United Kingdom. I was informed by an exhibitor that the cloth bucket was laid on the ground by soldiers taking showers outside. This was hard to believe but I was attracted to its shape anyways.

A few years later, when we talked about making a bed for pets, I remembered that cloth military bucket and used it as inspiration to create our own. The fabric was reused from tents sold by the military. After attaching rope and sewing it together, we washed it to look like well worn old jeans. We had several animals sleep in the trial product and they seemed quite comfortable."
